Bengals come in many different colours and pattens. There are two basic pattens, spotted or marbled, and with tica there are three colours that are recongnised, brown, (these have green or amber/hazel eyes) silver, (these usually have amber/hazel eyes,) and the snows, the snows come in three different colour groups, seal lynx point, (these are the only bengals to have blue eyes,) seal mink, (these have aqua or green eyes,) and seal sepia, (these have green or amber eyes,) there are two other colours that are seen in the bengal breed these are blue and melanistic/full black. At present tica doesnt recongise those two colours. There are many different types of spotted pattens on the bengals now, from small single spots of one solid colour to larger spots that open in to two seperate colours that differ from the background colour completly, these are called rosettes, rosettes come in lots of different sizes and shapes, some bengals have a mix of different rosettes. Theres four main different rosettes these are, Arrow rosettes, they are as it sounds shaped like arrow heads, with the rosette getting darker towards a pointed tip, paw print rosettes, a lighter center spot surrounded by smaller darker spots, making the rosette look like a paw, doenut rosettes are a lighter center with a darker outline all the way around, cloud rosettes are large two toned with one side of the rosetted darker, unlike the pointed shape of the arrow these are random shapes like clouds. The marbled patten also comes in four basic patten forms, horizontal flowing marble, reduced pattern marble, chaos marble and sheet marble. i have found a wonderful site that has amazing pictures to display all of the above and ive very kindly been authorised by the owner to put a direct link here so you can click and see all the wonderful images. thanks so much Karen at KINGSMARK BENGALS & SERENGETI CATS.
